Hello to everyone, I hope someone can help me in English :D
i have a problem with this LCD TV Akai AZ 4280FHDT4 LCD 42" .
It's power supply was fault, and I got it working, but now i have another problem, there is no picture. Actually the screen is fade white-blueish, no picture no OSD, but SOUND is working fine...
I can't find service manual for this TV anywhere... And that is even more difficult because I cant see what is the main processor and the main IC on T-Con Board, because there is a glued cooler over them.

The main board is:20-MT5362--13-OX
The card that controls the LCD screen: SZTHTFTV1607
Power supply: MLT198TL

I suspect the T-CON board, because i get 12V from main board going too it, but there is no supply for main processor on TCON (probably MST6xxx IC), there should be 3.3v to supply it, but there is not... there is i thin a DC to DC convertor that should convert 12 to 3,3 but i cant read any marks from it, so i don\t know what it does exactly.
Here is what the board is, i think, it has its cooler taken off...

If anyone knows where can the service manual can be found it would be nice...
I see that many LCD tv's have similar problems, and that the LCD driver is mostly the reason...
Is there any similar manufacturer, that could help too...

Thank you in advance

What is the type oft he SMPS IC? There is a diode and coil in DC/DC circuit. Are they OK? What voltage can you measure on the coil's pins.

Hi,

You said no 3,3V on t-con panel. In the picture I can see the DC/DC converter at the bottom-left. What type controller IC there? The datasheet may help.

That is the problem... it is unreadable :(

Sorry, you wrote it earlier. You should try draw the DC/DC converter schematic diagram. I know it's difficult, but not too much part. Somebody may identify it.
If it seems terrible for you, there is an another way, you have to build the converter. For example, you may use an LTC1174-3.3 and the problem is solved, but earlier you have to probe an outer power supply that the 3,3V is the only problem.

I did find out what is the part, that DC-DC step down converter...

It is EC9410-F (2A 380KHZ 20V PWM Buck DC/DC Converter), and it is made by www.ecmos.com.tw

There are many replacements that are made in China:
XL1410 (2A 380KHz 18V Buck DC to DC Converter) www.xlsemi.com
and many more:
BM1410A, TD1410, AP1512, AP1513, RM1410, GT1510, EC9410, EC9410C, SD46520, ACT4060 function compatible AOZ1010AI, AOZ1015AI, EC9406

Does anyone knows where in EU can this be bought? I cant find it anywhere, only China :)

Huh, it' a real rareness, 2A in a SOP8 package. I searched it some web-shop, but nothing. There's the LM2576 it's 3A but it has got 5-pin TO-263 package or 5-pin TO-220 package. Very similar, but it switches on low not hi than EC9410.

ASWO has it, but they have EC9410C, that is 1,5 A not 2A.... dont know if it would owrk...
Looks like i will have to contact China :D

Maybe work, but 2A IC went wrong then what will be an 1,5A IC? If you get it good price, you can try it.

Hi,

I make search on Google and I found that only you have got this TV. :)
I think you must search Sharp model, because the Akai and the Sharp use same parts. See this, it may gives you some idea!

Sry for being kinda 2 years late :) It has been fixed by making a small PSU :) From 220V with a trafo and stabilizators... to get the right voltage and enough current supply insted of dc/dc, so it still works :)
