First,check the audio signal at the volume potentiometer ,replace the 10uF coupling capacitor.Do you have any measuring instruments,audio and signal generator,or signal tracer?Several faults are possible, old germanium transistors, electrolyte capacitors,mode selector switches.It's difficult without measurement.
