Thank you! :)
It's a shame that this method is not common for hybrid amplifiers.
Solid State Preamplifier: Solid-state preamps, built on transistor-based technology, offer high gain, low noise, and precise signal control. They provide transparent amplification, accurate frequency response, and excellent dynamic range. Solid-state preamps are renowned for their reliability, stability, and ability to faithfully reproduce audio signals.
Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier: Tube power amplifiers, with their analog vacuum tube circuits, are revered for their characteristic warmth, harmonic richness, and musical saturation. They excel at adding depth, color, and a vintage flavor to audio signals, breathing life into instruments, vocals, and recordings. Tube power amps are known for their dynamic response and unique tonal qualities.
Hybrid Approach: Blending the Best Attributes: By combining a solid-state preamp with a tube power amp, users can benefit from the strengths of both technologies. The solid-state preamp offers precise signal control, low noise, and transparent amplification, while the tube power amp introduces harmonic richness, saturation, and the coveted vintage warmth.
In my opinion (but this is a subjective opinion, you don't have to agree with it), this would be a better solution in terms of sound quality than the vacuum tube preamp + solid-state power amp.
