1. Are there any reliable LED upgrade kits for the numeral segments? I have red reviews that report problems with existing
kits.
2. OR What is the correct wattage for the miniature lamps supplied with the original kit?
I am an Electrical Engineer and have successfully built many heath kits. If I know the electrical load presented by the original mini-lamps, perhaps I can design an LED equivalent.

The power supply voltage of the miniature lamps is 5V,dimmed by LDR1,so you can calculate the series resistors of the LED display.
