I have an older jvc portable stereo mod# pc-x300 that won't hold my preset stations. Was wondering if it has a separate battery to hold the memory power.

The digital voltage syntheiser is on the page 54.
Check the R378 (5.6K) resistor on the power supply/amplifier board ,that is the backup current limiter. There is not backup battery or goldcap.
