I have two boxes Philips 22RH457. One gives normal sound level, the other has markedly lower sound level. For a quick check on anything different I measured impedance of both simply at the connection cable. Indeed, the normal one 6.5 Ohm the lesser one about 55 Ohm. Before starting to open the box, could anyone give an idea of the probable cause. The deterioration has been gradual because before both produced the same volume. Perhaps speaker failure, some condenser failure, etc. Please let me know. Many thanks in advance!

Hello Rudy,

Is the lesser one 55 ohm really?
Probably the LS 403 woofer or soldering is bad.
Check and measure the woofer and the wires, soldering.
Good luck to repair

Hello TJ, indeed you are right. The lesser one is 8 Ohms. (also to me it seemed too high - I simply measured wrongly)
I understand from the manual how to remove the front plate but how to reach the 3-way filter? Where is it located?
Many thanks! (These are wonderful boxes - great sound!) Just in case here my email >enentech@gmail.com<
