Pioneer PD-202 CD player, tray not closing completely

My pioneer CD player pd 202 tray does not close completely. In the end of closing , I have to push it gently to close it.
i am an electronic technician. I did visual inspection but did not find any thing missing. I suspect the belt is worn out. But I will not get a new belt if it is worn out. What could be the fault?
Please help. Appreciate.
