Hello. here is a message to share my experience in solving a problem that appeared on the home-cinema amplifier ONKYO tx-DS494. In order to sell this amplifier I had to check if all the outputs and all the functions works properly. On the back of this amplifier you have to frontal output : A and B. I connect a pair of speaker on A output : no problem. I can adjust volume. when i connect the pair to the b output and turn the volume knob no sound came out of the speakers until I reach a level defined by I don't know what. :hmmm: My volume level goes from 0 to 80db ( if I remember well ). from 0 to 23 db no sound and when I reach 24 dn sound increase and stabilize. With hearphone connected, i don' have this problem so I conculde that amplifing transistor could not be incriminated. I checked on the service manual and saw that there are two or three component that could be the source of the problem : the main processor, some capacitors on the output PCB and relays. I began testing capacitors: no pb. then I thought that if cannot be the main proc because it ( I think ) works in a binary mode: it works or it doesn't. so I decided to switch between themselves the two relay and :super: : it works. The relays was in fault and did not switches properly. here is my experience in repairing an amplifier

Hello! Van egy hangfalam, benne 2db mély hangszóróval. Az egyik "dünnyög", azaz enyhén recsegve szól, de nem érintkezési probléma, inkább olyan, mintha rozsdás lenne a mágnes környéke és ahogy mozog a papír, enyhén serceg, túlvezérelt felvétel szerű lesz a hangkép. (De látszólag nem rozsdás semmi, csak a hang hasonlít ilyesmire.) Volt már tavaly a másik oldali hangfallal hasonló problémám, azt megoldottam úgy, hogy megfordítottam a hangszórót (fejjel lefelé) és onnantól jó lett. (Tehát valami a lógástól eldeformálódik benne és a papír hozzáérhet egy álló részhez.) Ezt 120 fokban kellett fordítani és jobb lett, majd visszacsavarozva (azaz megfeszülve) most épp tökéletes... viszont ez munkaeszköz és nem lenne jó, ha épp egy rendezvény közepén kezdené el ezt a rettenetes hangzást. Nincs nedves helyen tárolva (most épp lakásban van, korábban garázsban volt). Ha kézzel enyhén nyomom, húzom, stb. akkor elmulasztható vagy felerősíthető ez a zaj. Maga a papír sértetlen, a hátsó sárga harmonika szerű hullámlemez is ép, nincs túlhajtva. A hangfal típus itt szerintem nem releváns, mert sima kazettás magnóval is volt hasonló problémám, igaz ott nem próbáltam forgatni. Ennek ellenére a típusa: Omnitronic DX-2522, 2db 16ohm-os van benne, a másik szépen szól, most épp ez is, de szállítás közben ha elmozdul, akkor így jártam. Ezért keresnék tartós megoldást, lehetőleg egyszerűt, nem rombolásosat. Ahogy láttam, a mágnes csavarozva van, tehát elképzelhető, hogy leszedhető. Egyenlőre még csak elméleti a kérdés, tehát épp most raktam össze, nem holnap bombáznám ismét szét, de aki ebben járatosabb, annak elfogadnám a tanácsát, hogy mit lehet ezzel kezdeni.
