Sansui P-D10 spinning issues

I had just installed a new cartridge on my Sansui P- D10 Direct Drive Semi automatic turntable. But after that everytime the platter is not starting yo.move automatically when the tonearm is moved(which it used to do earlier). When the platter is pushed by hand it starts moving normally. I can understand that there is a mechanical glitch but couldn't figure out the trick, pls help!
