Philips BTM5120B - CD tray won't be detected as CLOSED most of the time

Hi,

I own a Philipps BTM5120B.
I started using the CD tray some time ago.

The steps to read the CD are :
- Press eject to eject the CD tray (it says "OPEN")
- Put the CD in
- Press eject to reinsert the CD tray (it says "CLOSING")

The thing is, after this last step, 9 out of 10 times it will go back to "OPEN".
I think the system in place to detect that the CD tray is indeed closed is faulty.
Would you have any idea of what I could check / repair to fix this issue ?

When the CD tray is detected as closed, the CD will read just fine.

Thanks a lot,

Hi!

Check the limit switches of the loader. These detect the current positions of the tray. After cleaning, check the switches, this is usually the fault.
