1.Did you switch it on more than 3 times when it underwent protect ? If yes, Yamaha locked your amp when it was turned on more than 3 times under protect mde. Yamaha amp basically does not turn on relay, no click sound, when your amp is locked.
2.Download rxv771 service manual.
3.See p.23 to unlock your amp.
4.If step3 doesn't work, it means your amp is not locked nor in protect mode. Check standby board voltage CB375 ACPWR_DET and 3.3M. 3.3M is CPU Vcc. p.120.
5.Remember to check R3701,R3702,C3701,C3712,D3712-D3715 & IC363,if no ACPWR_DET voltage or low voltage. You had better check C3701,C3712 by LCR meter. If you don‘t have it, replace them by a newly bought ones.
6.If step4 ok, check CPU_RST signal and CPU crystal with an oscilloscope.
If step5 Ok,CPU faulty.
