I used my MT4X to record original music before the advent of (inexpensive) DAWs. I'm transferring some of these to a digital recorder (cables from MT4X tape OUT to the digital recorder's IN). All these tapes were recorded with dbx engaged. When playing these back with dbx engaged, Track 1 is very crackley and distorted while the other tracks sound fine. Any ideas what may be the cause of this? And possibly a fix?
