I have found how to locate the hours on the Drum and Capstan Meters. I don't understand what it means.
It says: 05 42 8H on the Drum and 04 23 6H on the Capstan. Which number is the hours of operation? and what do the other
number s mean. Thanks for taking the time to explain this. I have looked in the manual and no explanation. Thanks Jim

Hello Jim,
The "drum" means rotating head.(Helical scan for record and playback)
The capstan is a rotating spindle used to move recording tape through the mechanism of a recorder.
When the tape is paused,(still picture) ,the drum doesn't stop, thats why is the difference.
