Phillips D8458 cassette decks siezed

Hi. I have inherited a phillips D8458 from mu brother-in-law. It has been standing on his shelf for a number of years unused. I have plagged it in, attached the speakers and everything works fine except for the sassette decks. They seem to be siezed. Can they be freed up? Will I need new belts? Thanks GH

Hi Goathead,
Take a screwdriver, and take a look inside of the device.
Does the motor rotate?
Probably you should change the rubber parts (belts, idlers). The years of unused have not been kind.
Good luck to repair!
