car navigation first droped out after a while , now it won't turn on at all

Hello, 
car navigation first weeks droped out after a while , now it won't turn on at all.
The head unit is 12 years old and possible it fails because thermal failure ?!
Is it perhaps a solution to re-solder certain contacts because of loosening due to years of shrinking and expanding?
I checked of course all  the  fuses
