JVC UX-D66 - no sound from speakers or headphone jack

Hi team;

I seek guidance. I recently bought a JVC UX-D66 from a thrift store and it looked good and was a perfect size for my bed side table. It switches on, all the buttons on the front panel work, the CD and Tuner also seem to be working as i can see the signal movement on the front display. but i cant seem to get any sound out of the earphone jack or the speaker terminals. PLEASE HELP
