I own an old set of Sony XO-D201 set.
this Sony set is still function.
the problems is that there were no display at the tuner section band/frequency.
my electrician said that there were no parts available because it is an old Sony model.
can anyone help me to solve this issues? and which parts and where can i find the parts.thanks

Please check on the power section the Q901 transistor's voltages. The VFD need negative DC ~30V, and few AC Volts to heat. The heater Voltages present in first end last pin of VFD AC3,78V (for each pin AC 1.9V to GND).

for your info, my Sony can on and can listen to the radio, the power is still ok. the problem is no display at all on the screen of quartz clock digital synthesizer as in the picture that i have attach.

I understad first, what is the problem. The set operate good, lisen all functions, but the display (only) don't operate.
My JVC set was just as bad in the past. Heating has disappeared, because one of resistors in the power circuit was broken.
Please measure the pin voltages of VFD (vakuum fluorescent display). Between GND and first pin; GND and last pin need AC 1,9Volt. And between GND and other VFD's pins need DC negative 2x - 30Voltages.
If this Voltages presents, your VFD is bad. If this Voltages not presents, your power sections or driver circuit is bad.
Please help me decide this.

just want to inform you that my friend(he is an electrician) said that the problem is not what you have said earlier. he has been able to repair the display and right now he's searching parts such as:
1. FL 101 fluorescent indicator tube
2. ICI 153 PLL controller & IC 153 TMP47C441AN
3. belt for the cassette player
do you know which website that sell this parts?

I don't understand something...
This time your Sony HiFi operate, or not operate (certainly without display)? Because if the equipment working (for example tuning the radio, and hear some station, etc.), then TMP47C441AN can operate.
This IC is an universal microcontroller with special microcodes by Sony in the ROM. This IC isn't available in stores. The display is the same.
You can buy this parts from other xo-d201, as broken (recycled part). Potential surce the eBay, or other similar website...
The belt: You need the size of the belt. Circumference or diameter. Cross-section and width. From old belt.
