Hi.

I have a Philips 42PFL9803H/10 TV that won't turn on. When I power up I hear 2 relay cliking and the LED is blinking 2 time then pause 3 sek, blink 2 time etc.

If have only 3.3v Standby Voltage on PSU. I have downloaded SM for this TV set, but the circuit is only for 37" TV, so is there someone that have the SM for the 42" set?

Hi Jens!
The error code 2 that means it has some problem in SSB, second power supplies are bad. Wrong SMD chips capacitators, wrong dual FET chips, ect. No differet between 37" and 42" chassis, all set useing Q529. Somewhere has shortcut sub power lines, 1,5V, 2,5V, 3,3V ect.

Hello Jens,

The unit will stop or go off with the 2nd error codes if the loudspeaker line is loose or has a problem with the speaker.

Since this device has the speakers in the back of the unit and the rear panel screws are only in contact, so there is no speaker on the back cover.
Sequently works fine.

If, after repair, but before starting, SDM service points are connected to the panel, the device will start because this protection is disabled.

Best regards:

Hi Fülesmester

I don't think that this is the problem here. I just read another forum and it seem to be a known error on this model, just as it's known the Xbox 360 & PS3 have problem with SMD chips. On the TV set it the Mpeg4 chip and the pnx8541 on the SSB board that is the problem, they get hot and get lose of the mainboard on some of the solder balls, and then blow the 4A fuse on the SSB dc-dc circuit, and can also had blow some the MOSFET FDS448.

Then I power on the TV I can see that the fuse Light up, first time I saw it I thourgh that it was a LED, but on the enclosed picture it's the fuse on the right that lights up, due to short circuit.
