Trying to locate a part number: RC2-2879-000 for a Canon office printer, having no luck. Attached photo of it here.
These use to be rebuildable, where you could snap them open and replace the IR diode and receiver, but not sure if thats still possible.

Hy. First of all, you shoud tell us the exact type of Canon printer you fight with. Also some pictures or a short video with your printer mechanics will be verry helpfull. What kind of error message say your printer?

The new sensor didnt fix this problem. When you power up the machine it makes a clicking mechanical noise that does not sound right. Its coming from a spring loaded clutch on a set of gears near the fuser assy which has angled teeth on it, and its spinning in the opposite direction so the teeth back off the other gear and cause the clacking noise.I was told this fuser assy has a bad sensor which gives a false message and same fuser is used in the HP 400 printer.

Anyone out there encounter similar problems with other printer repairs regarding false message due to sensors?
