Hi everyone
i need help to use a vestel 17IPS12 as a driver for the led backlight that came with the TV, I wish to use the set up independently from the media board to use as a led lamp, when I disconnect from the media board it will not power up.
I am only just learning about electronics so any help would be appreciated.

Hello Keith! I think your problem not power supply defect, basicly LED baclight problem. This power supply type working well every time. One or more LED baclight diode are defect. Try to check LED backlight only via LED bar tester or labor power supply. Different type LCD display useing different driving voltages to LED bar driver. (30-90V) Connect a power supply to LED baclight connector with good polarity. Set the power supply current limit to 100 mA and set the voltages from 20V to 90V continousaly. If the LED backlight is good, you can see light. First time this method will be working.

Which connector do you unplug? CN4? You have to provide signal like ST_BY (standby), BL_ON_OFF (backlight) & PWM_DIM.
You need to apply 5V to the enable signal (BL_ON_OFF) & and a dimming signal to PWM_DIM which can be a PWM-signal or a DC-voltage 0,2-1,2V.
