I have a pioneer sx980 an it wont do anything . when i turn it on the three backlights come on and thats it i put it on fm nothing lights up no needles and no sound, same with aux , phono 1, 2.nothing at all comes out the speakers. ive put the jumpers in and all the fuses are good. if i new what to fix i can fix it .. sombody help me.. i have the same issue with an amp/preamp also pioneer sa-9100 but i feel its not working because the reciever isnt workijng but im sure its got poblems too. arrrgggggg!!

You should first check for the presence of + 13V in the device power supply (marked with red: http://fileposta.hu/richlet/fd?id=C3AbFa53FdA2183054F5B92781Ce17C5C2Bb96...)
I marked in pink/blue the lines that allow you to check it. wish you success!

strangest thing when i was moving things around the light shorted out and blew the fuse. after i replaced the use the indicater light start working and every so often hear a lick and the unit comes on then shuts off all the sound but the lights stay on so i wiggle some nobs and levers and it comes on and shuts off comes on shut several times . the sound is crakly and distorted when on and it shuts back off and hasnt come back on. the lights still work tho. thank youferencP for the help you are the greatest

12.7 nearest i can figure by thatschematic it would be pins 16 and 22 on my supply board. does that sound right ? I clearly dont know a lot about these things but im learning..... some times the har way..... what do ido now boss? lol

- in addition to the three backlights, is one of the program indicators lit?
