Sony CCD-trv208E camcorder roller issue

I have a Sony CCD-trv208E camcorder which has been excellent until I dropped it about 20cms. It showed error messages and would not play. Did some searching on Google and another owner with same problem. He had found the source - namely a roller had come off it’s mounting spigot in the cassette compartment. Found mine was detached and recovered it and replaced it. Camera works. However the roller works itself off the spigot as I cannot find method of securing it. Any ideas please?
