Desktop-PC Acer Aspire E300 - fan at full speed, monitor black

Hello,

It is an older Acer Aspire E300-M97S desktop PC
with a mainboard Foxconn CK804M03-6EKS.

When I turn it on the fan runs at full speed.
The monitor remains black.

I tried a different power supply - no success.
I tried a different graphics card - no success.

I changed the 3 volt battery.
Could it be because the BIOS settings have been lost?

The following happened before:
The graphics card has 2 DVI ports.
Once when I plugged the DVI connector into the other DVI port,
a picture appeared and I was able to enter the BIOS with "Enter".
The fan ran at normal speed.

But that only worked once or twice.

Now when I turn it on, the fan immediately runs at full speed and the monitor stays black.

What could be the problem, what can I do?

This is a very old motherboard. Are electrolytic capacitors good on the board? Do you see bulging tops?

Hi besvg,

I think this is a typical sign indicating a north bridge BGA or CPU failure.
You can try to heat the north bridge bga with a blowtorch and start the motherboard.
If the mainboard starts, bga replacement is required.

Thank you for your information.

So far I haven't found any suspicious electrolytic capacitors.

I heated the Northbridge with a heat gun.
Unfortunately nothing has changed.
The Northbridge has a cooler with a small fan.

I didn't know the abbreviation BGA.
There are so many shortcuts in computers.

I'll search and experiment more later.
(When it's not so cold in my workspace anymore smiley )

Thank you.
