Yaesu FT-920 VFO strange behaviour

Guys, can anyone give me a hand?
First of all, a Happy  2024 to everyone.
I have a problem with my Yaesu FT-920.
I notice that when I go to use the internal knob of the vfo, the one that makes the frequency go quickly, turning it to the left to decrease the frequency,
instead of decreasing, it increases. In order to make the frequency decrease I have to slowly turn it to the left and when the frequency
tarts to slowly decrease, then I can turn it all the way to make the frequency go faster.
Can you tell me what could have happened and how to fix it?
Thank you
Enzo

Apologies torokj,
I already looked at this video but, firstly, it is a replacement and not a cleaning,
secondly, it does not show how to disassemble the rotary encoder since when you reach
13/5.07 of the video you can see that it is dismantling the front panel but at 1.14/5.07
you can see the rotary encoder already disassembled. So how the disassemble the encoder?
Also what is the part to clean? where to spray the "Potentiometer Cleanser".
Thanks

Hello,
Rotary encoder cleaning tutorial
More detailed video about the Yaesu encoder replacement  is here
It is difficult to disassemble the pressed metal cover without special tools.
I would recommend that you get a spare part, then you can try to repair the faulty one.
The operating principle is the same for all of them, a different type was installed in the linked video.
Good luck,'73
