My E-V PSX600 power amplifier side has quit. It made a kind of scratching sound when I turned it on and the "protect" light came on. there are no speakers or wires attached and the light stays on. The mains output side still has output so I believe it is in the protect circuit, but I honestly don't know where to start looking. I no longer have an oscilloscopr so I can't "chase" any signals other than by voltage levels. Has anyone else experienced this type of failure, and if so, do you have some guidance in chasing down the failure?
Thanks

Hello!
If output transistors in short circuit then device going to protect mode to protect speaker from burning, because all supply (high) voltage is in out .
Measure transistors in left and right side.
