I was given a Denon AVR785 WITHOUT the remote.
After finding a remote control (the correct model for this Denon), I followed instructions according to Denon to pair the remote to the receiver.
With new batteries, the AVR does NOT respond to the remote, however it did very briefly.
I fear that one of the control boards on the AVR is faulty.
I am looking for any thoughts on how to proceed.
I am in Canada.

The original remote control type is RC-978. If it is different, it is not compatible with the device.
Denon uses many different code sets in its remote controls, so it will only work with the correct one.
I don't know what to set on it, because with this remote control it should work immediately if the switch is in the Audio position.
It rarely happens that the infrared receiver in the device fails, but replacing it requires a specialist.
