Fostex 160 and 380S out of order. Repairing? Finding a second hand with a specific tape speed?

Hello,

I have several tapes recorded with a 4 tracks Fostex 160 (in the 80's).

My goal: digitizing them from my Fostex to my computer knowing that I have to take into account only the track of the piano.
And my very final goal is to get the sheet music notation (with MuseScore) from the "piano track" digitized.
If I digitize the cassette without excluding the voice track by example, the Software will not be able to create the sheet music notation.
The voice (or drums track) will prevent the software from properly breaking down the notes played on the piano.

Considering that, I have two (4 tracks) Fostex: 160 and 380S.

But.....

The Fostex 160 encounters a problem (power button can stay on the "on" position), so I recently found and bought a 380S Fostex (4 tracks).

Unfortunately, this 380S has another problem: the tape can't be run as the Play, Record, Reward, Forward buttons and so on
have no effect. The tape which remains fixed.

By the way, I do not know whether it is possible or not to repair this 2 Fostex models considering the availability of spare parts.

If it was possible, I will take the way to fix them. But I hesitate.

An other solution is to find a second hand 4 tracks Fostex which will run!

Nevertheless, I have to know first the real time speed of the other models which I could find on the web.
Someone told be to find a Tascam 4 tracks mixer/recorder which could do the job.

Whether I can find the owner's manuals of Fostex or Tascam, these don't give the tape speed. Only the service manuals can give such information.

And Fostexinternational only provides the Owner's manuals.

About tascam I haven’t searched the Internet yet.

If you have any advice, don't hesitate!

Thank you very much for your attention

Best regards,

Eric
