GEM WK4 My screen backlight no longer works. Without it, it's impossible to use this. Does anyone have experience with this and do you hopefully have a solution? Kind regards, Wally

The LCD backlite drived by 300 VAC 28kHz from a converter board.

Is it on the schematics page 8, middle up. Check the fuse, and the 12V. Also check or replace the 15pF capacitor in the out.
If it works, it possible, the ccfl lamp in the display broken. If you are brave enough, you can replace it with a thin LED strip that can be powered by 12V.
