Hi I have a harmon kardon 635i, and one channel has stopped working pulling the speaker cone constantly inwards.
There is a white ceramic resistor with there prongs marked...3w 0.27 93 3 that is getting hot what problem do I have?
Hi!
First step:
Disconnect the speaker because it will also burn out.
The problem is caused by a DC voltage at the output.
The big white resistor is the emitter resistor. If this term is unfamiliar, have the repair done by a qualified professional!

If you have a multimeter, you can measure how much DC voltage is at the output.
"pulling the speaker cone constantly inwards" This indicates that there is a negative X Volt on the output
The problem was caused by an output short circuit, so the output transistor became short-circuited. In addition, some other parts were probably broken.
If you are not a professional, you cannot fix it.

Thank you, is the emitter resistor the problem, or is the resister suffering from another malfunction?
