Hello,
i´m trying to fix an older DVD5 DVD changer by harman kardon. This part has a ugly unknown laser pickup- with no identity within the case. Only a number for the whole assy- but who in the world changes the complete assy with two pcb´s, drivers and pickup when only the laser has gone??? The same unit is called DVD600 by JBL with no further information.
Has anyone of you expierience to solve this problem?? Does anyone know the real name of the pickup? Top51 is a dead end...
First idea was to buy a functional DVD1. Seems to be a similar mechanism but a simple switch-board. Ok, may be the same laser. Or DVD10? Or DVD1500?.
The last rescue... will be to search for another DVD laser of the same geometrics. Then measuring all pins for producing a new wire between laser an pcb. At least creating a special dvd5 by that way:)
This way has rescued my old onkyo 6570 cd-player in the past.
So, if you have any idea - please let me know!
Cheers Tom
