Heathkit IT-2232 calibration issue

Just wanted to say thanks for having these manuals available for download. I recently purchased a HeathKit 2232 component tracer with a perfect screen and nice cosmetics. However, there are problems with calibration. It's a device ai will use once in a while but I could not turn down the price.
I have seen these before with badly burned screens. Always keep the brightness low when not using any conventional scope. Or slow the trace down so it's moving across the screen and not sitting at the same spot.
I built the same basic item back in the 80's after reading an article in a Ham Radio magazine QST. I still have it but have to hook it up when needed. This way the Tek 465 has other duties. 
Anyone had experience with this device?
