I am sorry for writing in english, but do not understand hungarian. I hope someone could help me with information regarding osciloscope.
I would be interested in buying a osciloscope that would be ok for hi-fi service like cd-players, tuning casette decks, amplifers etc.
as I am very new with osciloscopes and can not invest more than ~300€, maybe someone could give me some advice what osciloscope would be good in this price class. Or give me some advice what to look for in a osciloscope so that it would be good for hi-fi service? Maybe someone can tell which manufacturers osciloscope I should look for if I can invest 300€ ?

I use more Tektronix scope, it's an easy handle very good unit. If You find storage scope below 300 EUR, buy it! Sometime this function priceless!

For repairing analogue devices is not recommended to use a digital oscilloscope. I suggest you to buy an analogue scope with above parameters, written before. The most important parameter is the bandwidth and the number of beams. One beam is usually enough for daily repair, but for scientific measuring 2 beams are required. The Tektronix is the best buy. The price is acceptable and it will never go wrong.

Az analóg eszközök javításához nem ajánlott a digitális szkóp használata. Azt javaslom, hogy vásárolj egy analóg szkópot a fenti, korábban leírt paraméterekkel. A legfontosabb tulajdonság a sávszélesség és a sugarak száma. A mindennapi javítás során egy sugár elegendő, de a tudományosabb mérésekhez két sugár szükséges. A Tektronix a legjobb vétel. Elfogadható az ára, és soha sem megy tönkre.

Could you tell me please, where are you from?
If you plan to use your scope only for these kind of equipment, then a decent basic one will be sufficient for your needs.
The most important parameters are:
bandwith: you will need at least 20MHz
no. of rays: you will be able to buy either single or double one
300 euros is more than enough for a used oscilloscope in good condition, but you can even buy a new one for this amout.
If you plan to measure more high tech equipment, like micro controllers, lcd and plasma displays, etc... then I recommend you to buy a better one, with a wider bandwidth.
I can tell you brands if you tell me where you are. But even without knowing that, I can recommend you Tektronix. They make very good scopes. :)

Thank You very much for good advice! I have tried to search for some osciloscopes here in Finland, found some used ones like: Hewlet Packard and Tektronix. How is it regarding the calibration of osciloscopes, is it possible for a scope to loose calibration or maybe scopes have some kind of self test to ensure they show correctly?
I am very beginner with osciloscopes, so I will have to learn everything when I have found a scope! If You can tell some excact type of e.g Tektronix it would help me a lot!

Hi,
I prefer you to get a TEK2225 for example. This is a cheap, 40MHz dual trace type. 2225 was a popular type in the 90's and now a used one can be found below 300€. My first TEK was a 2225 too, by the way. These days my "playmates" are an EMG 1555, and a type 2215 and 2232 from Tektronix. I'm very pleased with all of them. (I've had also been working with HPs, Hitachis and a Hameg; these are not for my taste.)
About the calibration: it is not typical for a good scope to loose the calibration, neither the timebase nor the vertical stages'. But it is very important that the probes have to be checked and calibrated regularly. All of the types mentioned above have an internal calibrating SW-generator. And it's a benefit to get a user's manual at least for the type chosen.

If you are an absolutely newbie it is advisable for you to buy a scope with minimal parameters below:
-20 MHz
-dual trace
-single timebase
-50mV/cm sensitivity
-1MOhm||40pF input with 10:1 probes
-good brightness
-stable triggerability
This is fairly good for audio circuits and for gaining practice in measuring.

Tudod, az ilyet látva elgondolkozom: ezeknél a ferdítő-algoritmusoknál miért nincs egy, a Tanyához hasonló honlap, csupa nyelvészekből és programozókból. Mert akkor mostanra akár működhetnének is...
