JVC 330BK amplifier - Intermittent audio output!

Hi guys, I have had this JVC hi-fi amp from new & suffered the 'coming & going' of the left channel sound for some years!
I say that because it is so intermittent! In the early years I suspected the 'anti-thump' relay & replaced this with an equivilent from C.PC..
I have carefully checked for any 'dry joints' & cleaned all switches/controls etc!
The problem persists only on the left channel, on all inputs & also when using headphones.
I truly hope that there is an answer as I think this is driving me nuts!
MANY THANKS GARY

Hi!
This is an old device, there may be many reasons for the described error.
The first step should be to find out if the preamplifier or power amplifier is causing the problem.
The easiest way to find out is to swap (interchange) the two sides at the FW 107 connector.
If the fault remains the same, the power amplifier is faulty, if it is transferred to the other side, you have to look in the preamplifier.
Hifista.
