Hi everybody,
I was busy to repair a mini chain JVC DR-E11LBK and wanted to share my findings.
There were a lot of bad contacts in button switches but this was helped with cleaner CRC226 (my favourite for low frequencies).
The big annoying trouble was the sound output disappearing at low volume level ! Happened on one or the other and sometimes on both channels. Increasing the volume and the sound came back...for a while.
After few checks and tests, problem still occurs. Finally this was the output relay RY431 which had bad contacts.
This one is difficult to find in new state, but finally I got it fixed with cleaning contacts with ultra ultra fine sandpaper and properly adjusting the contacts because they must give practically a short when closed. Also the accompagnement of contacts is crucial. Testing with the ohmmeter until it is stable is necessary before remounting the relay.
Contacts must be well parallel when closed .
I found on internet this is a classic problem and happens on a lot of amplifier makes.
I found this symptom on a forum for a Sony device.
Hoping this can help somebody !
