Worked well on Replay for long time. Attempted to record. Pressed record. No signal either from tape or playback head. Attempted to Replay and signal only very feint at max output from all output connectors. Fuses OK.

First thing is checking the stabilized powersupply - 3 Pin regulators often defective. B77 and B780:
Relais in signal path often cause trouble. To check, solder a bridging wire in the relevant patway.
As previous emtioned the caps are always good for problems.
Taking out the boards and checking pathway with oscilloscope is the best - analsis is better than random changing parts.
oscilloscope-comparison with working channel (if one is working) helps too.
If no channel working consider power-supply and relay-signal path.

Check out the whole lot for dry caps, will you find a lot. then clean the recorrd switch contactors. They're black as the hell in this age, Cif or chrome cleaner will help to make it shiny. Then it should work. If not, then that will be the time to scientific troubleshooting by schematic diagram and instruments.
