I've suddenly lost all sound on my sony compact hifi stereo? But it was processed by a sudden rise in volume before it happened. Even though there's no sound coming from the speakers the equalizer is still registering that there's a signal when switching through each component including the tuner. I start checking capacitors and such. But I'm at a loss to why there would be a sudden rise in volume then complete loss of sound yet it still registers it receiving auto when connected to a device?
Am I missing a simple solution to this problem? Or is something more terminal? It might be an old system but its been a damn good one and it deserves a second chance if I can give it?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated?
