I dug out my old Tascam 488 to do some recording and the LCD screen seems to have developed an issue. I can still see everything OK but a black oval has formed over the majority of the screen. First I am wondering what caused this? Then of course the next question is can it be repaired? Replacement? I've attached a picture of what it looks like now. Quite annoying but, I would love to fix it if the price is reasonable. Thanks for any input and suggestions.

Thanks! Can't believe I didn't run across this in my search for answers. Too bad the news isn't good. Luckily the display is still readable.
