Hello everybody.
I own a Zenith Trans-Oceanic B600 radio, chassis A640.
Please I need your help on how to test for continuity the tuning (variable) capacitor by using a ohmmeter.
I suspect there is a short circuit in this capacitor, because all radio stations on the left half side of the dial are dead, on all bands.
At first sight, I do not see any of the plates damaged or bent, but I am not sure about that. As I do not have much experience in disassembling the radio, I would prefer to test the capacitor while in the radio.

Check the variable capacitor with a multimeter:
Use the red and black test pens to connect the moving piece and the fixed piece, rotating the shaft handle, and the meter pointer does not move.
If the pointer swings, it means that the capacitor has a short circuit.
