I have just bought a Sony PVM-14M4A broadcast monitor and it works great except it wont do NTSC at 50Hz, it just shows a monochrome image. I have not tried PAL60 yet but that will probably have the same problem.
Can I override the automatic colour system setting somehow?
From the schematic ic101 has outputs controlling secam, pal/ntsc and 50/60hz separately, I'm going to see if i can disconnect the two colour system lines from the ic and switch them manually. Hopefully it'll work.. I dont need /secam so I'll hold that line high then install a switch for pal/ntsc..

Thanks, I know that I can use rgb or component but there are a number of consoles which don't have those outputs.
Can I somehow modify the monitor to manually select the colour system?
Thanks

I'm using it with video game consoles, many newer systems (gamecube, dreamcast, ps2, xbox etc) are better played at PAL60. The NTSC50 signal I had was coming from a Japanese Sega Saturn running a PAL game (modded console)

Hi!
As I know, the standar is PAL50 and Secam60. If You have component output os SVHS , use it.

Hi!
I have PVM14N1 monitor. It only accept NTSC 60 Hz, PaL 50Hz. NTSC playback on DV PAL cameras(NTSC playback on PAL tv mode)is B/W on this monitor. Switch your player to NTSC, if it's possible!

Hi!
http://www.acuson.it/schedepdf/g8mNw5Pjue_PVM-14M2E(brch).pdf
It's write, "The PVM-M Series accepts PAL, SECAM and
NTSC signals. NTSC4.43 can also be reproduced."
What was the video source?
