I Have a Sony STR-V55 stereo receiver and need a relay for it. It is 24 volt and the Soney part number is 1-515-347-00. RY801 on the schematic. Can anyone give me an idea how to cross reference the Sony part number? I am not having much luck finding it on line.
Thanks

Hi Bob,
Sorry, but I do belive, that you must/can forget the Sony spares for a ca. 30 years old equipment... :-(
Otherweise; can you tell me the measures of these relay please?
If Im right, it must be so ca. 30x16mm, but what is the possible hight pls?
Some moderner products are surly not so relative big as these original one, and Im on the searching for similar exemplare/type with an applicable footprint :-)...
Greetings,
Kari

Szia Balint!
No, meg azert keresgetek...

Hallo Bob,
from attached Tyco types are two(RPII/2 & RX2) relative god to use, but they are (of course) not 100% the same on the footprint_as I did assumed...
I will search for others too.

Could not find my Metric ruler so here it is in inches 1 1/4 long, 9/16 wide and 1 1/16 tall. I figured if I can't match the foot print I could hot glue the relay on the board upside down and then wire it.

Hi Bob,

OK, 1 1/4 long, 9/16 wide and 1 1/16 tall ae inmetric system: 31,75x14,3x25,5mm.

I would propose for you both following Tyco relays to check for your replacement:
RPII/2,or RP420024, is ca. 25.5mm high,Cd ordering code/part Nr. for 24V DC: 5-1393234-1
RPII/2,or RP421024, is ca. 25.5mm high,Ni ordering code/part Nr. for 24V DC: 6-1393234-8
http://octopart.com/partsearch/#search/requestData&q=5-1393234-1+tyco(i.e. Arrow has it:$3.70)
http://octopart.com/partsearch/#search/requestData&q=6-1393234-8+tyco(Onlinecomp. has it:$3.10)

RXII,or RX420024(event.C), is ca. 16mm high, ordering code/part Nr. for 24V DC: 3-1415504-1
RXII, as transparant version; RX420024C, part Nr. for 24V DC: 6-1415504-1
Use pls pins 11/14 or 21/24, evetually both parallel: 11,21 & 14/24.
The other pins, 12,22;_I would cut out...

In view of TOP are both footprints same as your PCB needs/has, but unfortunatly, the distances are some diferent, but with aplying of short soldered wire birdges; you can lightly adapt it.

Otherwise, what you need is not more as a good, industrie standard DC, power relay, then your mains current is max. at 2 Amps. They are practically all industrial types to use from ca. 4 Amps, typical for 6, 8, 10 or even 16 Ampers, the only question is a passable footprint...

If you are in the States, check pls //octopart.com for some surces, but in Europe is maybe Farnell the good source for you... In which country are you at home pls?

Best greetings!
Kari
