VIDEONICS MX-PRO VIDEO-MIXER - power supply schematic

I recently bought a Videonics Mxpro and it didnt come with a power cord and from my research im learning I need a 8 Pin 270 degree DIN cord, but the problem is these are discontinued,

So ive tried to connect a 6 pin din cord to it with careful pin match up using extra wires.

from the +5V to the (what I believe is the) MXpro's +5V pin on the female end.

and the ground from the ac adapter to the ground on the MXpro

and NO LUCK,

ANY help is appreciated as to how I can get this baby some power to start working,

if anyone knows about vintage electronics or 8 Pin DIN power supplies I would LOVE any insight, Thank you
