Volume control on Yamaha rx-v995 won’t work from remote

I have an older Yamaha RX V995 home theatre receiver. The volume control will not work from the remote. Have two remotes and fresh batteries so problem not in remote. Question: will a reset on the receiver fix this or it it likely some servo motor or part that needs to be replace by a service technician? I can manually turn the knob and control volume just won’t work from remote. Finally what should I expect to pay if this needs servicing ie: parts and labor.
